A Little Something for Michelle and Steve...

I have been scrapping like a crazy woman lately! I think it's because Casey is working nights right now, so I stay up late and play on the computer. I came across this picture Michelle sent me a while ago of her and Steve. I decided that since their wedding is coming up, I would make a layout of them. I like how it turned out. It looks romantic to me. It's not my normal scrapping style, but I like to change things up a bit every once in awhile.

Anyway, I just want to wish Michelle and Steve an early wedding congratulations and hope they have many years of happiness together! Can't wait to see you guys in August!

Yes, I'm still here!

I know I haven't posted in a few days, but, frankly, nothing too terribly exciting has happened for me to write about. The kids' last day of summer school is tomorrow. I don't know whether to be happy or sad. I've enjoyed my quiet mornings this past month. I know we'll have more time to do more fun stuff, but then there is also more time for me to listen to their bickering (oh boy, I can hardly wait...)

The other day, Casey discovered another hidden oasis in Whiskeytown Park. We have been to Brandy Creek before and even hiked up to the Brandy Creek Waterfall (gorgeous hike!), but Casey discovered an area in the creek where a small pool had formed. The kids and Drake had a blast swimming and splashing (I think Drake had the most fun). We have come to love Whiskeytown Park, and we find ourselves there more and more these days.

Happy Birthday Drake!

Today was Drake's 7th birthday. I thought it was cool that he was turning 7 on 7-7. I even made a scrapbook layout in his honor. Ok, don't think I'm weird because I acknowledge my dog's birthday. He's just such a GOOD BOY...yes he is...(this is where he starts whacking his tail uncontrollably)...Ow, ow! Ok, I guess I am a little strange...

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Just wanted to post a quick "Happy Anniversary" to my parents! It's been 43 years! WOW! I love you guys! Congratulations!

Not much to say today...

Not much happening today, but I thought I'd post a couple layouts I've done this past week. Both of these are digital layouts, which I am now almost totally hooked on. I can still get the look of traditional paper scrapping without the mess! Lovin' it! Both of these layouts were created using kits by one of my favorite digital designers, Gina Cabrera, at http://www.digitaldesignessentials.com .

I took the kids to see the fireworks last night. Once again, we were not dissappointed. The city put on a great show! I just wish they didn't start so late. Raegan almost didn't make it until 10:00. We didn't get home until almost 11:00, so needless to say, the kids were a little tired today. Oh well, they survived.

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!

This morning Casey and I took the kids on a fabulous hike! Oh my gosh, it was so beautiful! We hiked up to Boulder Creek Falls in Whiskeytown Park. It was an easy hike and the kids didn't complain once! It only took us about 20 minutes to reach the waterfalls. "Wow!" was my first reaction. Here are some pictures:

We are so lucky to have stuff like this so close to us! Whiskeytown Park is just filled with hidden treasures like this! Here are a couple more pictures:

So, Casey has to work tonight, but I will take the kids to see the fireworks tonight. The city usually puts on a good show.

Welcome Sean Christopher Petts!

Amber and Scott had their beautiful new baby on Wednesday, June 28. Amber sent a few pictures, so I created a small announcement for my blog. Isn't he so cute? So far, I think he looks more like Amber. I can't wait to meet him in August at Michelle's wedding!

My First Blog Post!

Well, here I am! Joining the big and wonderful world of blogging! I'm not sure how often I will update this, but I've been looking at some other blogs and they looked like fun. I also thought it would be a good way to keep in touch with those whom we don't get to see very often. So keep checking back every once in awhile, and hopefully I will have some exciting news and fun pictures to share with you!
