Vacation - Day 2

So, on Day 2 we immediately head over to the Exploratorium. The kids loved it! Oh my gosh, we couldn't get them out of there! Riley especially liked the tornado creator (don't know what it's really called), where some dry ice vapors seep through a vent in the floor, and the kids have to walk in a circle around the vapors to create a miniature "tornado". We were really glad the kids liked it so much. I don't think they realized that they were learning all kinds of things about science. After we left the Exploratorium, we hit a few of the "can't miss" San Francisco sites: the Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street (the crookedist street in the world), and Coit Tower. For dinner that night, we headed into Little Italy for some Italian food (yum!). We also went back to Chinatown, so the kids could pick out some souveniers. We did lots of walking, but the kids were troopers for the most part. Thanks guys!

The Bokavich Family Vacation - Day 1

So we took a short little vacation this year and stayed pretty local. We hit San Francisco first. When we arrived in San Francisco, we headed down to the Palace of Fine Arts. We wanted to take the kids to the Exploritorium, but it was closed that day. So, we drove down to Fisherman's Wharf. We toured some old ships and a submarine (that's what the red picture is). We also walked up to Ghirardelli Square (not much to see there). We hopped on a crowded street trolley where the kids got their first taste of big city life. After we found our hotel, we took a taxi to Chinatown for dinner. We ate at the House of Nan King (excellent food). The kids were exhausted after dinner, so we headed back to our hotel for some sleep!
