Knitting

A couple of years ago I took up knitting. I immediately fell in love with it, and am now addicted to always looking for my next project. I've completed several things like scarves, hats, ponchos, and blankets. I haven't attempted a sweater yet, but someday...
My latest project is yet another scarf, however the reason I'm doing this particular one is to learn how to do cables. I'm a self-taught knitter, so I have to start slowly on new techniques. I'm loving the cabling and was surprised to find that this particular cable is actually very easy!
The scarf I'm working on is just like the picture shown here, except I'm using a different color yarn. I'm almost done with it, so I will post a picture of the final outcome as soon as I'm done with it. I got the pattern from the Lion Brand Yarn website: http://www.lionbrand.com . This is one of my favorite websites, as they have tons of free knitting patterns there. I also love their yarn, and it's usually the only one I use for my knitting. Their patterns are easy to follow, and they have many that are geared just for beginners. They even have a section that teaches you how to knit! Look! I'm an M&M!

Isn't this too cute? I made myself into an M&M. There is a great website called "Become an M&M" http://www.becomeanmm.com where you can customize your own M&M. Fun!
I've added a list of some of my favorite things in the right hand column, and Peanut M&M's are one of them! I'll be highlighting some of my other favorites later...

Here's the Old Man...

Well, Casey officially turned 40 on December 31! I made this layout in his honor. Of course it had to be in all black! (I'm so mean) I can only milk this for another year and a half when it will be my turn! (So scary!) I know he doesn't look 40, but dammit, can't he at least go bald or get some gray hair! I'm starting to get tired of hearing him tell me how often he gets carded still! People are going to start thinking I robbed the cradle! Oh well, I love him anyway. Happy Belated Honey!

Christmas 2006

Ok, so I got around to doing a quick layout from Christmas. I wish I had a picture of Drake destroying his present. It was too hilarious! The kids and I always get him a present from Petco. This year we picked out a green and red stuffed bone thing. Drake knows on Christmas morning that he has a present too, so we gave it to him right away. I was busy watching the kids open their presents, when I just happen to turn to where Drake was and noticed that he had completely destroyed his present. Now, let me just say that it had only been about 5 minutes! He had torn open the bone, ripped out the stuffing and the squeaker, and chewed and destroyed the squeaker. The stuffing was spread all over the floor, covered in dog slobber! Yuck! He had a great time, but I wish his gift had lasted a bit longer. Anyway, the kids had a blast this Christmas, as usual, and are already talking about next Christmas! I think Riley has already started a list! I love Christmas too, and I was a bit sad to take down all my decorations. And, (should I admit to this?) I'm still occasionally listening to Christmas songs on my MP3 player that Casey got me for Christmas! I know, I know... I'm a dork!

Christmas Tree Layout

Well, I haven't gotten around to scrapping any other Christmas pictures, but I did do a quick layout on our Christmas tree. These are some of my favorite ornaments. I finally took the tree down last week. It did take me several days to finish it, and then it sat empty in the family room for another few days, but it's finally out of the house now. It hasn't traveled too far yet, however, and it's still laying out on the back porch. Still green as can be, too. I don't think Casey will be able to burn it for awhile.
