Found This Yummy Blog...

I'm not sure how I found this blog, but I stumbled upon it while browsing some of my favorite blogs. Anyway, it's called "Cupcake Blog" http://www.cupcakeblog.com.

There are tons of cupcake recipes here. Some are very unique sounding, but a lot of yummy ones! I'm not sure which one I want to make first! There are also a lot of links to other recipe blogs. I'm starving now after browsing through several of these blogs! Anyway, it's after 11:00pm, and I'm getting delirious after drooling over these cupcake pictures, so I better head to bed so I can dream about chocolate tonight...

I Finished My Scarf!

Hey! What do you know? I finished my scarf! I'm really happy with how it turned out too. Of course now that it's done, the weather has decided to get warmer, so I can't wear it. This scarf did take the fear of cabeling away though.

In fact I've started another cabling project! It's a ultra cool cabled blanket. When I first saw the picture of this blanket, I knew I wanted to make it. After looking at the pattern, I realized it's even easier than the scarf was! It's knit in panels, and I've already completed the first panel. It only took a few days, and I only need to make 5 panels. I can't wait to see it when it's done! Although I loved the color it is in the picture, that color would just not match my decor in my house, so I chose to do it in the goldish color in the top corner of the photo. It's called Butterscotch. It's pretty.

Pinewood Derby

Well, first, as you can see, I've been doing a little remodeling on my blog. It's still a work in progress as I learn how to make it look even cooler. So it may change periodically.
The layout I added here shows some pictures from the Pinewood Derby from last weekend. Riley is in Cub Scouts, and the derby is a Boy Scout tradition. The cars start out as just a block of wood, and the kids are free to use their imaginations in the designs. There are rules and stipulations, and the judges are very strict with sticking to the rules. Since this was our first year, we weren't expecting too much from the kids' cars, but both of them did great! Casey did a great job helping the kids carve their wood into fabulous designs, and we both assisted them with the paint jobs. Riley went undefeated in his first two races, then lost the third (after a mishap at the starting line that caused both cars to fall off the tracks, and Riley's broke a bit), but he did come back to win a couple more before he lost again and was disqualified. He was a great sport, and didn't seem upset when he was done. Raegan was entered in the Open Division for siblings, parents, etc. She won 2nd Place! (Ok, there were only 3 cars in her division, but still!) It was a fun day.
