...and exhale!

Oh my gosh, it's been a crazy couple of weeks!

Spring soccer has started, and between both kids, we've been having soccer practice 4 nights a week for the past couple of weeks. And, yes, I am coaching both their teams. Actually, I'm supposed to be the assistant coach for Raegan's team, but my friend, Rita, who's the official head coach, blew out her ACL a couple weeks ago, so I pretty much have to run the practices. And originally, I hadn't planned on coaching Riley's team, but they were short coaches, so they asked if I would coach. How could I say "no"? As it turns out, I LOVE my Under-8 team! They are all so enthusiastic and eager to learn. I haven't had any sort of behavior problems with any of them (unlike Raegan's team). They are just so cute! Most of the kids on Raegan's team are great kids, but there are a couple that could use a good spankin'! Unfortunately I have become the "mean" coach to these couple kids. But I ain't gonna put up with their crap! I made one boy hold my hand during one drill because he absolutely cannot control himself and is constantly screaming and throwing himself at everyone. Of course, that embarrassed him. (Oh well!) I haven't figured out if he's just hyperactive or spoiled! Another little girl is also constantly screaming and not following directions, so I told her she could either go sit with her mom or she could follow directions. (She chose to follow directions). I hate to be the bad guy, but JEEZ!


So they both had their first soccer games this morning. Unfortunately they were both at 8:30, so I missed Raegan's game. It sounds like I didn't miss too much as they lost like 5-0 I think. Riley's team did great! They all seemed to be having a blast and all played great. I think they won like 5-1. Riley played goalie a little and did pretty well. At least they didn't score on him!


The other day at the kids' school, the upper grade kids had a Heritage Day. They could dress up in prairie style clothes, and they spent the day in dowtown Shasta learning about the history of our town and doing lots of activities. Raegan said it was really fun. She was able to borrow an outfit from our neighbor, so she could dress up. Doesn't she look so cute?


So it's finally Spring Break! Hooray! We don't have to go back to school until April 11! Hooray! I had great intentions once again to get some cleaning done around here, but have been in kind of a funk today. I'm not sure if I'm fighting off a cold or just having allergies, but I've had a sore throat and no energy today. So the only thing I've really accomplished today is this:





The photo is from our trip to the coast that we took in February. We saw the redwoods and took the kids to the beach. Drake loved the beach, but the waves were so big that we didn't want him in the water. Somehow we were able to keep him out of it. That was some serious self control on Drake's part.

Well, I think I've babbled on enough for today. I need to start thinking about dinner. Hmmm...what could I make in under 5 minutes?

One of My New "Favorites"...

Ok, so you may have seen my list of Favorite Things here, and maybe you've checked out a few, but I have to tell you that if you haven't checked out Piperlime yet, go now! I totally love this website. If you love shoes, you will drool all over your keyboard while you browse this site! I stumbled upon it when I was on the Old Navy site one day. I guess it's owned by the Gap, which also owns Old Navy. Anyway, a couple months ago I ordered some slippers from Piperlime and was so impressed that I knew I'd order from them again. So, last week they sent me an email letting me know they had a bunch of new shoes in for spring and summer. As soon as I saw these shoes, I knew I had to have them...

Are these cute, or what? I wore them today for the first time, and LOVE THEM!!! I have to add that Piperlime also has awesome presentation when it comes to their packaging. You'll have to order from them to see what I mean. Ok, so I also better warn you that they do have a lot of very expensive shoes as well. And what I mean by that is anything over $100. You see, when it comes to shopping, I am, shall we say...CHEAP! Well, I did pay $35 for those adorable shoes you see above ( did I mention they have FREE shipping? ), so I guess I'm not too cheap. It's also just fun browsing through all their shoes and wishing I could afford to buy more of them!

Ok, I think I've said enough about Piperlime. Gosh, they should pay me for this, huh?

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Oh, my gosh, it's been forever it seems since I've even been on the computer! I'm supposed to be cleaning my house right now, but I had to have a quick computer fix first. I've been busy the past two Saturdays doing hair most of the day, so I promised myself I would devote today to cleaning! Oh boy! I know I'll be glad I did when I'm done, but for now, I'm dreading my day actually. And to top it off, it's sunny and beautiful out today! Oh no!

Speaking of weather, we've had some wacky weather here this week! We actually got a couple inches of snow the other day! It was so cool. I love it when it snows here. Unfortunately, it only lasted for about a day, but we all enjoyed it while it was here.

I've also been busy with my knitting! I'm still working on that same blanket and am about a third of the way done. It seems I'm never satisfied to be working on just one project at a time, so I usually have another one going at the same time. I just finished my first felted project! It's this cute little purse. I really like how it turned out. Basically, felting is knitting in 100% wool, then washing it in hot water. It shrinks way down and gets that fuzzy look to it. Kinda like if you've ever accidentally washed one of your wool sweaters and it shrinks. Cool, huh? So, I liked making this little purse so much that I've already started another one. It's similar, but it will be striped.

Ok, so I think I've had my computer fix. I better start my cleaning, or I'll never get it done! The kids are playing across the street, and Casey is working some overtime today, so I don't have any distractions (other than my own procrastinative thoughts). Ok, here I go...
